Project: Windswept
Location: Eureka, MO
Project Background & Description
BE’s scope of work included: Site clearing, earthwork, rock excavation and site utilities
Project Summary
Windswept is a new 549 home subdivision in Eureka, MO built by McBride Homes. It sits right next to another McBride Homes development called Mirasol (550 homes), which Bloomsdale Excavating also provided site clearing, excavation, grading & site utilities for. The new houses range in size from 2500sf up to 4000sf.
This project was on an expedited excavation and grading schedule with a three-month timeline from the initial start date. Due to previous work on the Mirasol project, Bloomsdale was brought in as part of the project team very early to help with project budgeting, schedule and timeline development. Upon award, Bloomsdale perform 30 acres of clearing and drill/blast 70,000 tons of rock. This had to be managed so as not to impact the nearby Mirasol subdivision. After initial clearing and rock blasting, Bloomsdale Excavating was to move 480,000 cubic yards of dirt. To accomplish the expedited schedule, Bloomsdale ran three (3) crews.
