Project: Spring Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant, Phase 1 and 2
Location: Springfield, IL
Project Background & Description
Bloomsdale Excavating’s scope of work included: Civil Site Work
Project Summary
Bloomsdale Excavating Company, Inc. was charged with completing the civil site work package for Spring Creek's new wastewater treatment facility adjacent to the existing plant in Springfield, IL.
The contract consisted of two phases, which were concurrently active. Bloomsdale successfully excavated more than 230,000 cubic yards of material on the site and hauled in more than 150,000 cubic yards of borrow material. To fulfill the project requirements, Bloomsdale used this material for structural excavation efforts and to surcharge future building pads. Bloomsdale also constructed methods of erosion control and completed stream mitigation activities.
Bloomsdale successfully completed both phases on time and within budget. One of the most notable obstacles on the project was the large number of contractors working on this relatively small, congested construction site. In order to stick to the budget and time constraints, Bloomsdale maintained daily communication with all parties involved. This lead to proper planning with the production crews and kept the project running at an even pace.
Due to Bloomsdale's quality performance on the project, two other projects were also awarded during Bloomsdale's tenure on the site.
"Good job. Very professional. Whenever I needed something done, they took care of it no problem."
