PROJECT - Highway 63 Pedestrian Underpass
CLIENT - University of Missouri Science & Technology
TIMELINE - September 2023 – September 2024
PROJECT SUMMARY
Working as the prime contractor, Bloomsdale Excavating was hired by the University of Missouri Science & Technology to construct a new pedestrian underpass to connect their East & West campuses.
The scope of work on this project included site demolition, erosion control, excavation & grading, site utility installation, precast structure installation, concrete pavement, electrical, retaining walls, and landscaping.
This was a unique project due to time constraints. Due to MoDOT restrictions, Highway 63 could only be shut down for 2 weeks for the removal of the existing pedestrian tunnel and the installation of the new precast tunnel. Bloomsdale had to essentially perform 6-8 weeks worth of work in a 2 week timeframe working 24 hour shifts. This made scheduling a top priority. Bloomsdale finished this work 2 days ahead of schedule.
